NBA 2K13 to Include All Star Weekend as a Pre-Order Bonus 2K Sports is adding the All Star Weekend festivities to NBA 2K13 as a pre-order bonus. The NBA All Star Game, Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, Three Point Shootout and Rising Stars Challenge will be made available for those who pre-order the game. Those who don’t pre-order the game may have to purchase the ASW add-on as DLC, which may upset some gamers. Both the three point contest and slam dunk contest have been included in previous versions of NBA 2K, just not in “NBA All Star” form. NBA 2K13 is expected to be released on October 2 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation Portable. A Wii U version is slated for release at a later date. No word on whether a PS Vita version will be made available.

It’s an interesting concept, but there could be a number of issues (mentioned in a previous post) that could arise when the game is released this fall. Pricing for the game has yet to be revealed.

E3 is the biggest video game trade show of the year and is often used as a place to showcase the latest titles.

With the event being a few weeks away, sports gamers are anxiously waiting for new information on some of their favorite titles and getting a first look at new games as well.

So what can gamers expect to see at this year’s E3? In this episode of SGS, I’ll give you my E3 sports video game predictions and take a stab at what I think will be announced at the event.

NBA Baller Beats Brings New Basketball Experience to Kinect For the first time, a video game is utilizing Kinect to follow an object besides your body. NBA Baller Beats by Majesco adds a real basketball to the equation, with ballers having to use an actual basketball and dribble the ball to the beat of the music. Gamers will also be prompted to perform various moves, including crossovers, pump fakes and behind the back moves. The concept is intriguing but several issues come to mind, including safety concerns about dribbling a basketball in a living space, the whole dribbling on hardwood vs. carpet and the noise factor associated with bouncing a ball inside a home. Among the songs in the game include tracks from Kanye West, Run DMC, Gorillaz, Them Crooked Vultures, Common and Tiesto. NBA Baller Beats is slated for release this fall. Check out the trailer here.

NBA rookies Kyrie Irving, Jimmer Fredette, Kemba Walker, Derrick Williams, MarShon Brooks, Brandon Knight and Tristan Thompson were added in the update. However, other rookies are still missing, including Klay Thompson and Isiah Thomas. Also added to the game include Nene, DeAndre Jordan, Darren Collison, Jeremy Lin, Arron Afflalo, Roy Hibbert and Kyle Lowry.  The update is available in the game’s Online Arena.

Another NBA 2K12 Roster Update Released 2K Sports has released another NBA 2K12 roster update. According to the NBA 2K Insider, Kevin Seraphin, Goran Dragic, Brandan Wright and Greivis Vasquez received positive boosts while Jamal Crawford dropped. The decision to drop Crawford’s overall rating from 78 to 77 is an interesting one, as the guard scored 34 points against the Warriors just two days ago. As always, the roster update is downloaded automatically after booting up the game.
