EA Sports served up it’s first HD tennis video game this month with the release of Grand Slam Tennis 2.
The game has a few features that make it stand out in comparison to other tennis video games out today, including an innovative control scheme, Grand Slam Classics Mode and a mix of current and past tennis stars.

Grand Slam Tennis 2 Hits Stores
EA Sports is officially back in the tennis fold with the release of Grand Slam Tennis 2 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
The game is the only tennis title to have all four Grand Slam Championships and features past and present stars as well as ESPN Grand Slam Tournament Classics mode, where you can relive some of the greatest moments in tennis history.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 has received mixed reviews so far, as scores on Metacritic are all over the board.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 Demo Now Available
The Grand Slam Tennis 2 Demo is now available on Xbox Live and is expected to be released on the Playstation Network later today.
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are the only playable tennis stars in the demo, which gives gamers the opportunity to play a three game set at Wimbledon.
The demo was initially released on XBL by mistake last month due to what EA Sports says was a “clerical error,” but was quickly pulled from the marketplace.
Error Causes EA Sports to Pull Grand Slam Tennis 2 Demo
Details on why the Grand Slam Tennis 2 demo was removed from the Xbox Live marketplace are out.
In an email to SGS, EA Sports Communications Coordinator Ritu Sidhu said the demo was made available for a short time yesterday due to a “clerical error.”
No word on if the mistake to release the demo early was on EA Sports or Microsoft’s end, but Sidhu did state it will be available for download next month.
The demo was available on the Xbox Live marketplace yesterday, only to be pulled hours later.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 Cover Athletes Revealed, Demo Now Available
Novak Djokovic, John McEnroe, and Maria Sharapova will grace the global cover of Grand Slam Tennis 2.
Additional covers will also be available based on region with other tennis stars, including Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Boris Becker.
In addition, the Grand Slam Tennis 2 demo is now available for download on Xbox Live. New screenshots of the game can be viewed on the SGS Facebook page.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 is slated for a February release.
UPDATE: The demo has apparently been pulled from the Xbox Live Marketplace. No word yet on why it is no longer available.
EA Sports Releases Grand Slam Tennis 2 Roster Reveal Trailer
A new trailer for Grand Slam Tennis 2 is out.
Notable stars in the video include Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, John McEnroe and Pete Sampras.
A total of 23 players will be available in the game, which is expected to be released next year for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
EA Sports Releases First Grand Slam Tennis 2 Screenshots
The first set of screenshots for EA Sports’ Grand Slam Tennis 2 are out.
The images feature tennis stars Maria Sharapova, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 is expected to be available next year for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
EA Announces Grand Slam Tennis 2 for Xbox 360, PS3
Two years after releasing Grand Slam Tennis for the Nintendo Wii, EA Sports has revealed that it is releasing Grand Slam Tennis 2 for the Xbox 360 and PS3 next year.
The game will feature 20 of the top tennis players in the world, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and the Williams sisters, along with all four Grand Slam tournaments.
Grand Slam Tennis 2 also features Total Racquet Control, where shots are done using the right stick, career mode, ESPN Grand Slam Tournament classics mode and PS Move support.
EA Sports will have some stiff competition on the tennis court, as 2K Sports’ Top Spin 4 and Sega’s Virtua Tennis 4 both have huge followings.
