SportsGamerShow - Jeremy Lin Game Winner vs. Raptors According to NBA 2K12

I couldn’t help it. I had to do it. With Linsanity taking over the NBA over the past week, it’s only fitting for me to create an NBA 2K12 version of the biggest play of Jeremy Lin’s career.

With the game tied at 87, Lin hit a last second three point shot to give the New York Knicks the victory over the Toronto Raptors. It was the fifth straight win for the Knicks.

Here’s the final play according to NBA 2K12. Feel free to share the video and leave your thoughts in the comments!

On a related note, a new roster update was released today for NBA 2K12, boosting Lin’s overall rating from 69 to 75.

SportsGamerShow - NFL 2K5 Sim of Super Bowl XLVI

With Super Bowl XLVI upon us, it’s only fitting to simulate this epic matchup between the New England Patriots and New York Giants with one of the greatest football video games of all time in NFL 2K5.

Many experts have predicted this game to be a close one between both teams, however this particular simulation bucks that trend. ESPN’s Chris Berman breaks it down in the video above.

Other video game Super Bowl XLVI sims have also surfaced over the past few days, including another NFL 2K5 clip on Operation Sports and a Madden NFL 12 sim by EA Sports. Both offer different results.

I’ve also been recreating the best plays of the 2012 NFL Playoffs using NFL 2K5, which you can view here.

SportsGamerShow - 49ers Drop the Ball in OT

The New York Giants are going to the Super Bowl after a critical fumble by Kyle Williams put the G-men in prime position to win 20-17 in overtime against the San Francisco 49ers.

Williams was stripped of the ball by New York’s Jacquian Williams on a return just over five minutes into overtime, which set up the game winning field goal by Lawrence Tynes.

Here’s the game winning kick according to NFL 2K5, with audio from the actual Fox broadcast.

SportsGamerShow - The Cundiff Choke Job

The Baltimore Ravens run to the Super Bowl ended in heartbreak, as kicker Billy Cundiff missed a game-tying field goal in the waning seconds against the New England Patriots.

With 15 seconds to go, Cundiff’s 32 yard attempt sailed wide left, giving the Pats a 23-20 victory and a trip to the Super Bowl.

Here’s an NFL 2K5 version of how the play went down with audio from the actual CBS television broadcast.

SportsGamerShow - The Catch III (49ers vs. Saints)

The Grab. The Throw and Grab. The Catch III. Whatever you want to call it, this single play is what many are calling one of the biggest plays in San Francisco 49ers history.

After the New Orleans Saints pulled ahead 32-29 with 1:37 remaining, Alex Smith drove the 49ers down to the Saints 14 yard line. With nine seconds left, Smith silenced his critics with a single throw, completing a touchdown pass to Vernon Davis to win the game.

Here’s an NFL 2K5 version of The Catch III with audio courtesy of KNBR’s Ted Robinson and Eric Davis. Keep in mind the latest roster update doesn’t include some of the players in the actual game, but I tried my best to mimic the actual play.

SportsGamerShow - Tebow (Over)Time

In one of the most memorable NFL playoff games in recent history, Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow shocked the world by beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card game with one throw in overtime.

The game was 23-23 going into OT, but the tie was short lived as wide receiver Demaryius Thomas scored on the very first play, running 80 yards for the game winning touchdown.

Unfortunately the celebration was short lived, as the Broncos were eliminated in the next round by the New England Patriots.

Here’s how the play would have played out in NFL 2K5. Although the latest roster update isn’t fully accurate and I was unable to mimic Thomas’ stiff arm during the play, I tried to emulate the situation as close to the real thing as possible.

Expect more NFL Playoff SGS Fan Trailers in the next few weeks, with a NFL 2K5 version of “The Catch III” by San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis coming later today.

SportsGamerShow - NBA 2K12 Cover Athletes Trailer

Like most basketball gamers, I was excited to hear the news that NBA legends Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan will be the cover athletes for NBA 2K12.

2K Sports unveiled all three covers late last week, but to the disappointment of many fans, didn’t release any details or footage of the game.

So I went ahead and created an NBA 2K12 cover athlete trailer to commemorate the news.  Of course, the video consists of NBA 2K11 footage, but I think it does the job as far as highlighting the addition of both Johnson and Bird to the upcoming title.

NBA 2K12 is expected to be released October 4th.

SportsGamerShow - Phantom: NBA 2K11 Finals Game 6

Dirk Nowitzki’s journey is complete.  He is an NBA champion.  For LeBron James, the chance to win an NBA title will have to wait another year.

In one of the most memorable NBA Finals in recent history, the Dallas Mavericks won the Larry O’Brien trophy for the first time in franchise history after beating the Heat 105-95 in Game 6.  The Mavericks won four of the series’ last five games.

To commemorate the Mavericks historic win, I put together a series of highlights from the game using NBA 2K11 video mixed with audio from the actual broadcast.  The SGS fan trailer mimics the slow motion phantom reels NBA.com is known for.
